What is a J-Key?
A J-Key is an alternative computer keyboard and Mouse.


What does the word J-Key mean?
The “J” is for Joystick and the word ”Key” has a double meaning of an alternative computer keyboard,  or a key which creates access to the internet or outside world.”


Who would benefit from a J-Key?
A person who has difficulties using a standard computer keyboard due to a disability such as Cerebral Palsy.


Would it be suitable for a person who has had a Stroke or is suffering from Parkinsons?
Yes, if the person is able to move a Joystick.


Does the J-Key need batteries or a power supply?
No, the Keyboard uses a USB lead to connect to the computer where it gets its power from.


Why is the keyboard the size it is?
Some  people with disabilities are prone to involuntary spasms, so the size and weight of the J-Key has been designed to take many variables into consideration.


Do you need any software with the J-Key?
No, the J-Key is a “Plug and Play” device and is seen by a computer as an alternative Keyboard and Mouse.


What speed can a person type with the J-Key?
After a short time (approx. 2 months),  a person can type at +10WPM.


Is the code for typing on screen when you are learning?
Yes, you display the code by using a split screen with a word document on one side and the code on the other. The code is designed for speed and can be learned easily in 2 to 3 months.


Does the J-Key work on any computer?
As long as there is access to a USB port, a computer will see the J-Key as an alternative keyboard and Mouse.
